The Night Yard.
Step beyond the homestead lights and allow your eyes to adjust to the scale and clarity of the Central Australian night sky.
01 / Slow down and look up
A different layer
of our home.
The Night Yard is our dedicated, low-light stargazing and astrophotography space, created for guests staying at Curtin Springs. This quiet, self-guided area provides a place to sit, slow down and look up, watching the Milky Way, planets and satellites move across the southern sky.
Open nightly, The Night Yard makes one of the most remarkable features of our remote location easy to experience in your own time. Stay for a few minutes or lose track of time entirely.
Out here, darkness is not an absence. It reveals an entirely different layer of our home.
Information signs will help you with your camera settings, answer some questions about our skies and start you one your fascination with the night sky wherever you are!
